Epic Is Dynamic
HDR Video
The high performance Quad Bayer image sensor unlocks incredible HDR video, perfect for filming high dynamic scenes. A single frame essentially separates exposure levels in different areas, accurately capturing and exposing light and dark details. The separated images are then layered to create a colorful, balanced and eye catching picture with higher dynamic range compared to normal video.
48MP Photos
All In The Details
With the all new 1/2-inch CMOS sensor, the Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo captures impressive 48MP photos. Get ready to take your aerial content to a whole another level especially with RAW DNG photo support. This is game changing.
SmartPhoto
Optimized Capture
The Mavic Air 2 features DJI's newest DJI Fly feature, SmartPhoto, which integrates scene recognition, HyperLight and HDR into one mode for optimal results. Utilizing the power of AI, scene recognition optimizes different camera parameters for various scenes. It can detect and recognize five categories which includes; sunset, skies, grass, snow and trees.
Hyperlight optimizes photos taken in low-light conditions and HDR significantly increases the dynamic range of clarity of your image. In order to achieve this effect, there are advanced algorithms that analyse each scene, adjusting exposure parameters and layering shots to generate nuanced, high-quality photos.
HDR Panorama
The Mavic Air 2 introduces a new way to take panoramas, HDR panoramas. Too often panoramas end up with uneven exposures, over blown highlights or underexposed shadows. Now with HDR panorama, the panorama has an increased higher dynamic range allowing colors to be vivid and incredibly accurate.
The Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo features a Sony IMX586 image sensor, a sensor phone on some flagship smart phones, that supports Quad Bayer technology, allowing a higher dynamic range color sensitivity. A Quad Bayer sensor effectively is a normal Bayer sensor with 4 pixels behind each color square instead of one. This can have multiple advantages over a typical sensor. In low-light conditions, what essentially happens is the image processor can combine the data of these pixels to form what is essentially a larger pixel (which helps reduce noise) and in normal lighting conditions, the pixels aren't merged and effectively create a larger resolution photo.
The Image Sensor is attached to a class leading three-axis gimbal that stabilizes every shot. This means ultra-reliable photos and videos even in the most windy conditions or unpredictable environments.
FocusTrack
Master The Skies
Professional quality footage has never been easier to create thanks to FocusTrack. This easy-to-use suite of intelligent tracking modes includes Active Track 3.0, Spotlight 2.0 and Point Of Interest 3.0, helping you unleash your creativity.
ActiveTrack 3.0
ActiveTrack has reach a whole new level on the Mavic Air 2. Follow subjects while avoiding obstacles has never been smoother and more reliable. With ActiveTrack 3.0, the Mavic Air 2 has better pathfinding and a faster/more accurate prediction of lost subjects. This technology along with deep-leaning allows you to keep your subject of the frame even if they move behind a tree!
Spotlight 2.0
Fly freely while the camera remains locked on the subject with this convenient mode. Simply select your subject and fly, the Mavic Air 2 will take care of the rest.
Point Of Interest 3.0
Point of interest 3.0 improves on the existing Point of interest 2.0 especially when it comes to recognizing flat surfaces. With POI 2.0, the drone may lose the target while tracking where POI 3.0 has become more reliable. The Mavic Air 2 is also now able to dynamically track objects like people, cars and boats.
Time + Movement
8K Hyperlapse
The DJI Mavic Air 2 supports Hyperlapse in 8K resolution, allowing you to warp time and space for especially stunning footage, it's clear and tack sharp. The best thing about this hyperlapse is you can achieve this hyper-lapse without complex post processing. Choose between Free, Circle, Course Lock and Waypoint modes, select the shooting location and the DJI Fly app will do the rest.
Imagination Simplified
QuickShots
With just a few taps, you can automatically create cinematic video clips. The Mavic Air 2 flies complicated aerial routes for professional-like shots. Using the in-built editor in DJI Fly, add music, effects and filters or use the intuitive story templates so you can share your masterpiece directly to social media. Feel free to tag us in any of your photos/videos @djistoreau.
Safer Flight for Stunning Content
OcuSync 2.0
OcuSync 2.0 has a video transmission distance of up to 10km (FCC mode) and can also deliver 1080p FHD resolution live stream directly from the drones camera to the remote control. Enjoy more freedom for exploring and more clarity to perfect that shot! For us Aussies, we can expect a range up to 6km using SRRC.
Reliable Signal, Smooth Flight
Like many of the newer DJI drones, the Mavic Air 2 supports 2.4/5.8 Ghz dual-frequency communication and automatically switches to the best channel with the lowest inference in real time. This significantly improves the aircraft's anti-interference ability in challenging environments, increasing flight safety.
Battery and Flight
Fly Longer
Last longer in the air with the Mavic Air 2's impressive battery life of up to 34 minutes, a significant increase over the Mavic Air which only supported up to 21 minutes of flight time. Furthermore, pull off epic fast-paced shots with a max flight speed of 68 k/ph in Sport Mode.
Obstacle Avoidance
Fly Safer
The Mavic Air 2 perceives its environment in three directions: forwards, backwards and downwards. An auxiliary light, similar to the Mavic 2, improves visibility and adds an extra layer of security. Obstacle avoidance provides you with that extra bit of confidence when flying in normal modes. In optimal conditions, the Forward vision sensor is accurate up to 22m, Backward vision sensor is accurate up to 23.6m.
APAS 3.0
Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) 3.0 utilizes the power of advanced mapping technology for smooth following and reliable obstacle avoidance even in complex scenarios. Obstacle avoidance performance and automatic flight planning has dramatically improved compared to the previous generations, increasing safety.
DJI Fly App
Effortless Editing
The DJI Fly App, which is only currently compatible with 64-bit android phones, makes creating flawless videos more convenient than ever. The build in editor provides manual settings, advanced functions and intuitive templates, allowing you to create professional compositions in seconds.
Designed For UAV Pilots
Re-designed Controller
After using the original Mavic Pro controller design for numerous years, DJI has re-innovated the controller to provide a new experience, allowing the device to be mounted on the top, making it faster and easier. The remote controller now has a impressively long battery life of ~240 minutes and features a whole new ergonomic design for a more comfortable grip. Furthermore the integrated antennas improve user experience.
Optimal Options
ND Filters
The Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo comes with an ND filter set to help control exposure and provide more creative options such as long exposures. The ND filter set that comes with the Fly More Combo is the ND16/64/256 and is helpful when adjusting the shutter speed in extreme lighting conditions. There is another ND filter set available that is the ND 4/8/32 that enables vivid, bright images even with low ISO settings.
Important Notes
- Photos taken in SmartPhoto are limited to 12MP due to how the Quad Bayer sensor operates.
- Hyperlapse in 8K resolution is currently only available for Free and Courselock mode.
- The 10km and 6km range is rated when it is unobstructed, free of interference. These are ideal conditions and your range may vary depending on different environmental factors.
- Some countries may not allow the use of 5.8 Ghz transmission.
- The 34 minute flight time is acquired by DJI using a the following testing variables; 9 degrees at a speed of 5.1m/s without wind.
- APAS 3.0 and Focus Track are not available when recording in 4K 60,50,48 fps and 1080— at 120 and 240 fps.
- Battery life of the controller was measure with an Android phone in an interface free environment.
